Ofsted outstanding nursery

An outstanding nursery

Little Ladybirds has started the year with a bang after being rated as ‘outstanding’ by the education inspector Ofsted.

We achieved an outstanding rating of 1 in the four key areas which early years’ providers are judged on, namely effectiveness of the leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare; and outcomes for children.

In the report, the inspector highlighted how the children “flourish in the exceptionally well-resourced environment” and how they ‘make significant progress in all areas of learning and show increasingly high levels of confidence and self-esteem.”

The nursery was praised for the way it fully involves parents and how well informed they are about their child’s learning.

The inspector also noted the exceptional systems of performance management ensure that every member of staff is supported to deliver the “highest-quality teaching experiences” to every child.

The report concludes by saying: “All children are extremely well prepared for their future learning and eventual move on to school. They show high levels of curiosity, imagination and concentration and are confident to share their ideas while understanding the need to listen to the views and feelings of others.

Jennifer Thompson, Manager of Little Ladybirds Day Nursery, said: “Only a small proportion of nursery providers receive outstanding status from Ofsted, so we are delighted to have achieved this; it’s a fantastic way to end the year.”

“I would like to thank our staff, parents and, not forgetting, the children, as everyone has played their part.”
