The mum and dad of Billy Marin say they are “overwhelmed’ by the generosity of parents and staff at Little Ladybirds who have raised over £2,000 for him.
Through holding a sponsored crazy hair day, raffle and requesting individual donations, we raised £2,225 for Billy.
Billy’s mum and dad, Louise and Daniel, are focused on creating as many special memories as possible with their son and their two other children, and his family, friends and the community have rallied around with various fundraising events taking place to enable this to happen.
After hearing the sad news about Billy from a friend of Little Ladybirds we really wanted to do something special to enable the family to make some memories for Billy and his siblings.
We received fantastic support from parents, families and local businesses who donated over 40 prizes for the raffle, bought tickets and made individual donations. Support also came from our sister nurseries, Clever Clogs.
Little Ladybirds Nursery Manager Claire Harrison-Jones said: “We never thought in our wildest dreams we would raise as much as we did, but we are absolutely delighted with the final amount and would like to thank everyone who supported us.
“Having visited Billy at home, it’s clear he is a much-loved, happy, brave little boy.
“If the money we raised can enable the family to create special memories with him it will be worth every single penny.”
Louise and Daniel said: “We would like to thank the nurseries for their generosity, it really is overwhelming”.
“Billy is the happiest kid ever and it’s lovely that so many people have reached out to help us.”
A charity night for Billy is taking place in the Billingham Synthonia Club on Friday 22nd October from 7pm. This will include a disco, live auction and tombola. Tickets priced £5 are available from the Club or Skelton Mill.Billy Marin, fundraising, little ladybirds day nursery
