The new manager of Little Ladybirds Day Nursery has set herself an outstanding target.

Jennifer Thompson is setting her sights high after recently being appointed Manager. Jennifer previously spent the last four years as Manager of Little Ladybirds’ sister nursery, High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington.

Jennifer, who only started working in childcare in 2008 having previously been a nurse, has set a target of achieving an outstanding rating for Little Ladybirds from the education and early years inspector Ofsted.

She says: “Little Ladybirds is much bigger than High Bank so this is a new challenge for me but it is one I am looking forward to.

“The nursery has huge potential and working with the excellent staff team, and very supportive parents, I have set a goal of achieving an outstanding rating from Ofsted at our next inspection.”

Jennifer hold a Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education (CACHE) Level 5 Diploma in Management in Early Years Education, along with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning & Development and an ILM Level 3 qualification in Leadership & Management.

Lesley Thompson, Owner of Little Ladybirds Day Nursery, said: “Jennifer is highly qualified and the experience she has gained as manager at High Bank made her the perfect candidate for this role.

“She will play a major part in ensuring Little Ladybirds is the first choice when parents are looking for a nursery for their child.”
