Nursery comes out fighting for Finn

Little Ladybirds Day Nursery has raised £1,000 for a two-year-old boy who was able to hear for the first time after becoming the youngest person in the world to undergo a brainstem operation.

Finn Johnson attends Little Ladybirds and staff and children this week held a charity event in aid of the ‘Fight for Finn’ campaign.

The children took part in different activities each day, including making and selling cakes and painting portraits of themselves to sell to their parents.

Each of the different rooms in the nursery (which are divided up by age) also had a themed dressing up day, with children wearing green, purple, blue and pink.

At the end of the week, the nursery had raised a fantastic £1,000 for Finn. The money will be put towards a fundraising campaign that aims to send Finn to a summer camp in 2014 which will further aid his development.

Catherine Mason, Manager of Little Ladybirds, said: “Everyone really enjoyed taking part in the Fight for Finn week and we are delighted to raise so much money for the campaign.

“Finn is a very popular boy who is a delight to have at the nursery, and we would like to thank all those who supported such a worthwhile cause.”
