Helen Shearer is another member of the Little Ladybirds team who has worked in childcare since she left school.
In her case, that involved an apprenticeship which saw her working in a nursery four days a week.
She joined Little Ladybirds in 2006, which makes her one of our longest-serving members of staff.
During this time, she has worked in every room, apart from babies, but it is tweenies where she eventually settled and became the Room Leader.
In this role, she oversees the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring staff have what they need to support the children, being the first point of contact for parents and generally looking after the health and wellbeing of the children.
Helen says: “In my experience parents who visit nurseries just know when they have found the right one for their child and Little Ladybirds is like that.
“We have a great staff team with a diverse range of ages so that means everyone brings something different to childcare.”
In her spare time, Helen, 33, enjoys spending time with her wife Katey and they are hoping to become parents in the future.
She adds: “I have made lots of friends during my time at Little Ladybirds and met Katey here, so that tells you a lot about the kind of place it is.”day nursery, early years practitioners, little ladybirds day nursery, staff profiles
