“I absolutely love my job.” Not many people are so effusive about what they do for a living, but it could have been very different for Zoe Forrester had she taken a different career path.
That’s because Zoe originally wanted to become nurse and after leaving school was headed in this direction when she began an A-Level in Health and Social Care.
This involved placements in various settings, which included a children’s nursery and as soon as she experienced this, Zoe quickly realised she had found the career for her.
This eventually led her to Little Ladybirds in 2013 and now she is our Pre-School Room Leader, the job she loves so much.
Zoe, 28, says: “My first placement was in a pre-school, so I was delighted to be able to work in the pre-school at Little Ladybirds.
“You get a lot more out of the children at this age. They are starting to understand their own minds and no day is ever the same, which makes it even more interesting.”
As Room Leader, Zoe oversees the day-to-day running of the room, including planning observations, activities, liaising with parents and generally ensuring the children are safe and happy.
She adds: “I absolutely love it. Seeing them come into the room for the first time and watching them grow and develop is the best thing in the world.”
When she’s not working, Zoe enjoys socialising with her friends and taking her five-year-old cousin out on trips.
