“I absolutely love my job.” Not many people are so effusive about what they do for a living, but it could have been very different for Zoe Forrester had she taken a different career path.
That’s because Zoe originally wanted to become nurse and after leaving school was headed in this direction when she began an A-Level in Health and Social Care.
This involved placements in various settings, which included a children’s nursery and as soon as she experienced this, Zoe quickly realised she had found the career for her.
Sarah Barnfield was working in a factory before deciding she wanted to pursue a more rewarding career.
Having lots of nieces and nephews, she decided that childcare was the job for her and so went to college where she ended up with a Level 2, 3 & 4 in Childcare, as well as a Foundation Degree in Early Years.
She joined Little Ladybirds in 2012 which makes her one of our longest serving members of staff.
Whether it’s learning sign language, implementing The Curiosity Approach, or writing her own children’s book, Miriam Joyce is constantly pushing herself in her childcare career – and she is still only 25!
Miriam joined Little Ladybirds in May 2021 to take on a brand-new role as our 2-5 Room Leader.
In this role, she straddles between our toddler and pre-school rooms, bringing her experience to bear to support the individual room leaders and staff working in these rooms.
