Welcome to Little Ladybirds

Mar 15, 2016 | News stories

Little Ladybirds Day Nursery has come up with a way of trying to ease the distress of parents who leave their children for the first time.

The parents of children who start at Little Ladybirds Day Nursery in Stockton now receive a welcome bag full of ‘essentials’ to get them through the day.

This includes a bag of tissues to wipe away any tears, a sachet of tea to ease their stress and chocolate to comfort them. They also get a special Little Ladybirds pen and a nice poem inside the bag.

Little Ladybirds Day Nursery Manager Jennifer Thompson explained: “It is, understandably, an upsetting time for parents, especially mums who tend to be the ones who initially drop their child off, when they leave their child in nursery for the first time

“The idea of bag is to welcome parents to Little Ladybirds but to let them know that we understand that the first few days is not an easy time for them.

“We have already had some greet feedback from parents who have received the bag, who have told us they appreciated the thought that has gone into the bags.”
